Surface Pro and Surface Book are two great teams that shine in Microsoft‘s proprietary hardware catalog. But they are not cheap, surely not to compete so directly with your Windows partners. In short, Microsoft will adjust configurations and prices to reduce the entry barrier and its high cost.
Best Buy and other retailers have listed new versions of these models with availability starting in June. One of them is the 15-inch Surface Pro 6 with Intel Core i5-8350U processor, 16GB of RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD for $1399.
Microsoft removed the dedicated NVIDIA graphics in this configuration and mounted a Core i5, but with twice the RAM. The explanation is simple. In this type of equipment the user needs more memory, but no more processor and, if not used for games, the integrated complies to cover the graphics section.
The same strategy with the Surface Book 2 of 15 inches, now with a new configuration with Intel Core i5-8350U, 16GB of RAM and SSD of 256GB. The price of $1999 is still not an economic line but has dropped $500 at a stroke from the top configuration.
The 13-inch Surface Book 2 version has also been adjusted recently, with the same configuration for $1399 and without having to mount a much more expensive Core i7, taking into account that the Core i5-8350U eighth generation with its four cores and eight threads is left over for this team.
All new versions of Surface 6 and Surface Book 2 should be available soon internationally. We will already inform you of all the new models and prices of these Surface.
