Meizu has been rumored to be developing its first smartwatch for some time now, and it appears the launch of the device is not far away. The Meizu smartwatch speculated to be called Meizu Watch has reportedly passed through China’s 3C certification.
The listing reveals that the device carries model number M007W and will come with support for the eSIM 4G network connection, so it can make independent calls without mobile phones. It is also revealed that the product is supported 7.5W charging power.
It should be noted that, as the previous new version of Meizu 17, this Meizu Watch also shows that it does not ship with a charger. According to a famous Chinese leakster “Digital Chat Station”, Meizu Watch has already started off-line production a month ago and the device uses a 420mAh battery produced by Guardian.
In addition, Meizu has previously applied for the registration of the “Flyme For WATCH” trademark. The international classification is “14 types of jewelry and watches” and “9 types of scientific instruments”. The status of the trademark is registration application.
In other words, Meizu Watch will be equipped with the Flyme operating system developed specifically for watch devices and support the independent installation of APPs, which can also effectively enhance the practicality of smartwatches.
As for why Meizu wants to make Flyme for Watch, officials have explained, they said: “On the one hand, 5G is the era of AIoT. Based on Flyme’s ecology, it is beneficial to enhance the synergy between products. From the Meizu company level, AIoT is a strategic direction, an opportunity, and a challenge; from the user’s point of view, a sound ecosystem is more conducive to enhancing user stickiness.”
Although the company is yet to confirm this wearable device and there’s no official information about the same, reports indicate that the Meizu Watch could get launched next month in China. Since the device has passed the 3C certification process, it seems likely that the launch is imminent.
