MediaTek today announced the release of T830, a new product for MediaTek’s 5G platform. As a highly integrated system chip, the T830 uses a 4nm process and an Arm Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU. Integrated M80 5G modem and supports 3GPP R16 standard.
MediaTek T830 platform uses a highly integrated compact design that not only reduces the overall power consumption of the platform, but also helps device manufacturers reduce development costs, shorten product development cycles, and accelerate the launch of products. The T830 supports full-band sub-6ghz 5G networks, providing 5G rates of up to 7Gbps, allowing operators to use existing cellular network infrastructure to reduce the cost of laying cable or fiber. T830 can be used to build easy-to-use, more mobile and portable small 5G network devices to provide high-speed 5G experience for end users.
MediaTek T830 platform is a highly integrated system-on-a-chip (SoC) that integrates an M80 5G modem and supports the 3GPP R16 standard, Igeekphone has learned. The T830 uses an Arm Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU with a SUB-6ghz full-band RF transceiver, GNSS receiver and power management system. The built-in hardware-level MediaTek Network Processing Unit and Wi-Fi Offload Engine can be used without increasing CPU load. Provide gigabit throughput performance for 5G cellular networks to Ethernet or Wi-Fi. The T830 also supports MediaTek 5G UltraSave power saving technology to reduce 5G communication power consumption, providing high performance, high speed and high energy efficiency communication solutions.
Manufacturers can combine the T830 with MediaTek Filogic wireless connectivity solutions: For 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) devices, the T830 can be used with Filogic 680 (tri-band 4×4 Wi-Fi 7); For 5G mobile hotspot devices, the T830 can be used with Filogic 380 (dual-band 2X2 Wi-Fi 7). These solutions support the advanced features of Wi-Fi 7, such as MLO multi-link Operation and 320MHz wide channel support.
Other features of the MediaTek T830 platform include:
MediaTek M80 modem on the T830 supports the MediaTek 5G UltraSave power saving technology, which can optimize the working mode based on the 5G network environment to reduce 5G communication power consumption.
The M80 modem supports 5G NSA/SA networking and can support 5G FR four-carrier aggregation in hybrid FDD and TDD modes.
It can support 5G dual card dual standby (DSDS) function.
In terms of interfaces, the T830 supports three PCI-Express, USB 3.2, two USXGMII interfaces with rates up to 10GbE, and RJ11 telephone lines through the PCM/SPI interface.
