MediaTek officially released the new 5G modem MediaTek M80 5G, which will send samples to customers this year. M80 5G supports millimetre wave and Sub-6GHz 5G frequency bands. In addition, under SA and NSA, the M80 5G modem can reach ultra-high 5G transmission rates, with a maximum downlink rate of 7.67Gbps and a peak uplink rate of 3.76Gbps. The M80 5G modem also supports industry-leading technologies such as dual 5G SIM cards, dual 5G NSA and SA networks, and dual VoNR, bringing users a more reliable high-speed 5G connection.
In addition, this modem supports UltraSave and BWP dynamic wide regulation technology and achieves the effect of reducing power consumption by automatically adjusting power and adapting to different data throughput of high and low bandwidth. According to reports, the M80 5G modem can be applied to various devices such as smartphones, personal computers, MiFi, CPE, and industrial Internet of Things. In addition, it also supports C-DRX energy-saving management technology, which can automatically switch between active and dormant states to reduce communication power consumption while maintaining the connected state.
