At the Mobile World Congress 2018, we recorded the debut of the new LG V30S and the artificial intelligence ThinQ, which will arrive as an update for the V30 along with Oreo starting next April. As expected, the Korean company has not unveiled its new flagship 2018 confirming the desire to no longer follow an annual cadence for the presentation of new products.
According to what was confirmed in Barcelona by the CEO of LG Mobile, Hwang Jeong-hwan, the new top of the range of LG will probably arrive by the middle of 2018 and, therefore, will be ready for marketing by next summer in Italy. The new top of the Korean range will not be a simple hardware upgrade of the V30 but can count on many new features.
Of course, as easily predictable, the new top of the range of LG will present the SoC Snapdragon 845 and the Android operating system Oreo enriched by the new IA ThinQ. It is legitimate to assume the debut of several innovations such as, for example, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the display or an unprecedented and significantly enhanced photographic compartment compared to the V30.
In the Consumer Electronics Show held last month, LG Electronics CEO Jo Seong-jin said that LG will change its mobile brand name if needed. However, the plan is still uncertain. Currently, in South Korea, there is a fierce debate over whether LG will retain the V and G brand series they are now using.
Both incumbents of LG Electronics Jo and Hwang said that they will keep using both brands. Even so, it is still unknown whether the V series and G series smartphones will remain a premium smartphone. Further details will arrive, in any case, in the coming weeks. Keep following us for all updates.
