In most smartphone manufacturers, LG should be a special one, because their flagships never are lack of innovation, such as LG V10 dual screen, LG G5 module, LG G Flex curved screen, etc, but their smartphone sales don’t increase obviously, the mobile department has lost profit in ten quarters.
But LG doesn’t give up, this month they announces big adjustment at the beginning of this month, dismissing its mobile CEO, Cho Juno, announcing Hwang Jeong-hwan as new CEO, currently their flagship, LG G7 is under preparation. According to GSMArena, a new patent of LG has been leaked, the patent shows LG is developing Iris recognition, different from Samsung technology, LG iris recognition can recognize according to front camera, avoiding adding the port on the front design.
In addition, the patent file mentions that iris recognition sensor can adjust accuracy according to different environment, distance change to adjust recognition speed, under any light, it can do iris recognition. It is said that LG will release LG G7 smartphone next half year, so it may use on new flagship to compete with Samsung Galaxy S9. As for its specs, LG G7 will use bezelless screen, powered by Snapdragon 845 processor, it should be released at MWC 2018 next year, stay tuned.
