Nowadays, the development of 5G mobile phones is much faster than expected. In May 2020, the price of 5G mobile phones has dropped to 2000 yuan ($281) or less, and consumers can buy comprehensive performance without spending too much money. A good 5G phone, 2020 is very suitable for switching. Among them, the recently released Honor X10 and Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition. These are powered by the latest processors, namely Kirin 820 and Snapdragon 768G with a starting price of 1899 yuan (about $267). Today, we will make a comparison between Kirin 820 Vs Snapdragon 768G to see which processor performs better.
I believe that many people are also entangled in how to choose these two phones. So what is the difference between the experience of these two devices? After 5G testing, game performance testing, and body heat control testing, I believe everyone has an answer. So let get started.
Left: Honor X10 || Right: Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition
The first is the 5G test, the Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition equipped with Snapdragon 768G, while the Honor X10 is powered by Kirin 820. Both chips with integrated 5G baseband and both support NSA/SA dual mode. At first glance, they are all dual-mode 5G phones, but in fact, the stacking in terms of network signals is not the same.

Honor X10
According to the official introduction, Honor X10 supports, N1/N3/N38/N41/N77/N78/N79/N80/N84 a total of 9 5G frequency bands, while Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition only supports N41/N78 two, frequency bands.

Supporting more frequency bands means that 5G signals can be received in more places, such as rural areas with few buildings and overseas areas. It can be seen that the Honor X10 exists as a future-oriented global 5G mobile phone, and The Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition does not take into account more user usage scenarios.
In actual 5G applications, the speed that users perceive the most should be network speed. In fact, 5G tariff packages are divided into 3 levels. The most expensive one can run to 1Gbps, and the basic package also has 600Mbps. If you do not apply for the 5G package, you can also enjoy 300Mbps of downlink bandwidth on 5G mobile phones.
We used Honor X10 and Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition to download “Honor of Kings” three times on a third-party application platform to see the difference between them.
If you are using a mobile phone card without a 5G plan, both the Honor X10 and Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition can easily run to 300Mbps bandwidth. At this time, it takes no more than 1 minute to download a 1.7GB “Honor of Kings”. However, the download speed of the Honor X10 is still better. It is reflected in the peak speed of more than 35MB/s when the download starts. The Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition requires 1-2 seconds to buffer.
This delay time is also reflected in the network search of the 5G signal. We used slow motion to capture the search speed of the two mobile phones after turning off the flight mode. Although you can see that the Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition is the first to turn off the flight mode, the Honor X10 is the first to find the 5G signal and display it on the status bar.
Kirin 820 Vs Snapdragon 768G
As a mobile phone launched by an established communications company, the 5G performance experience of the Honor X10 can surpass the Redmi K30 5G speed version. This result is not surprising. After all, the Honor phone has been known for its “good signal” since its birth. So in terms of game performance, can the Redmi K30 5G pull back a game?
First, let’s take a look at the specifications of Kirin 820 and Snapdragon 768G. Kirin 820 is still built with a 7nm process. Compared with the previous generation, the CPU part of the Kirin 820 has been upgraded from the two A76 cores of the previous generation to four A76 cores. The maximum frequency can reach 2.36GHz, and the remaining A55 core frequency has also maintained the same level. The architecture of the GPU has changed from G52 to G57, and the performance has been improved by 37%, which is still very large.
The Snapdragon 768G official did not introduce it in detail. We learned from the Qualcomm official website that the Snapdragon 768G is more similar to the improved version of the Snapdragon 765G. The CPU frequency is increased to 2.8GHz, and support for Bluetooth 5.2 is added. The rest is basically unchanged.
If you only look at the performance of Antutu, the performance gap between Kirin 820 and Snapdragon 768G does not seem to be large. But in the special test application of the CPU, the Kirin 820 is clearly ahead of the Snapdragon 768G. In the GPU test, this gap is even greater.

▼ Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition
This gap is more obvious in the game. For example, the average frame of the Honor X10 of “Asphalt 9” can reach 54 frames, which is a relatively smooth experience, but the Redmi K30 5G speed version is only about 44 frames. During the game, The phenomenon of dropped frames is very obvious.

In the well-optimized “PUBG Elite”, the average frame rate of both mobile phones exceeds 59 frames.

It is worth mentioning that the screen of Redmi K30 5G supports 120Hz, but the game does not adapt to the frame rate of 90 frames or more, and the screen refresh rate of Honor X10 is 90Hz. “PUBG Elite” just fits the 90 frame mode, which Will bring users a smoother experience.
▼ Honor X10
Then we also tested the surface temperature results of the Honor X10 and Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition after running for an hour of “PUBG Elite”. The highest temperature of the Honor X10 is only 38 degrees, while the highest temperature of the Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition can reach 41 degrees. It seems that the power consumption control of the Snapdragon 768G is not ideal.

▼ Redmi K30 5G Extreme Speed
Based on the above test results, the Honor X10 surpassed the Redmi K30 5G speed edition in 5G performance, theoretical performance, and actual game performance, which is enough to prove that the Kirin 820 is stronger than the Snapdragon 768G. For consumers who are pursuing performance, the Honor X10 is indeed a model worth more than 2000 yuan ($281).
