According to media reports, Apple Intelligence, officially announced by Apple last month, will reach a strategic cooperation with OpenAI’s ChatGPT to jointly promote the development of artificial intelligence technology.
According to sources, Apple plans to announce “at least one other” major partnership this fall, when Apple Intelligence is expected to connect to Google’s Gemini platform to provide users with a richer intelligence service.
Earlier, Apple senior Vice President Craig Federighi gave a “hint” about a potential partnership with Google shortly after his WWDC keynote. Gurman also added that Apple is likely to announce a partnership with Google “at some point in the future,” if not this fall.
In terms of partnerships with other companies, Meta’s Llama chatbot was quickly rejected by Apple for “not yet performing as expected.”
Gurman further pointed out that Apple wants to turn AI technology into a direct revenue path, not just as an aid to drive the development of hardware products.
To that end, he predicted that Apple “may eventually” launch a subscription-only smart service, similar to Apple Intelligence+. The service will offer more premium features for users to pay an additional monthly fee, similar to the iCloud model.
