A summer festival is here, now is the perfect time to jump in.
A lot of you may be wondering if now is the perfect time to jump back into New World. While the game’s launch was successful for a bit, players started to drop it very quickly, like within a month. However, the developers have been hard at work providing many updates to get players back into the game. The Summer Medleyfaire event and update look to be a huge step in the right direction.
While the debut of New World may have been rocky, it is now beginning to come together. One of the main reasons people quit the game was because there wasn’t much endgame content and there were a lot of bugs. A lot of these things have been fixed or overhauled for a more pleasant experience. They’ve made it easier to earn New World coins and other goods. Leveling has gotten a lot easier now, as opposed to when the game first launched. This update will introduce a new trade skill, expedition, loot changes, and a group finder.
So is New World worth coming back to? Well, that is going to be subjective. However, I think now is a great time to come back and see what has changed. But before you make your decision, let’s go over what might have changed since you last played.
New World Worth Coming Back To?
Let’s just get this right out of the way, I think New World is definitely worth coming back to. New World has seen constant updates since it was released. Each update made the game significantly better. While the game isn’t perfect by any means, it is now in a good spot and where it should have been at launch. There have been many updates to the game since its release, including new features, issues resolved, and improved performance. Some mechanics have also been overhauled.
A lot of the game’s mechanics are becoming easier for everyone. This is great to attract new and old players alike. With the developers making it easier to level your abilities, weapon, and character is a great incentive to return. Other mechanics like fast traveling and upgrading equipment no longer require as much gold as before. The developers of New World have also increased how much gold you from things around the world. Players not having a lot of coins for things when it first launched caused a lot of frustration.
Now with the new Summer Medleyfaire Update, players can also look for even more quality of life updates that are sure to make a lot of players happy.
Summer Medleyfaire Update
For the Summer Medleyfaire Event, many of the major locations are filled with Summer Villages. Helping you improve your reputation with the Maestro by doing things like completing tasks and fishing will aid you in earning the title. During this time, if you raise your reputation, you’ll be able to receive Summer Medleyfaire prizes that you can store in your house.
Musically inclined players will rejoice over the inclusion of musical instruments in this update. Musical instruments are a new type of trade skill that is based on rhythm. Players can discover up to 31 songs to play on these instruments. Instruments may be played individually or in groups. Music isn’t only for pleasure; it also offers benefits to you and your teammates by providing buffs.
So far there are a total of 5 musical instruments that the players can play. We don’t know if more instruments will be added in other updates, but if it proves popular, they might add more. Here are all of the instruments available to you:
- Guitar
- Mandolin
- Upright Bass
- Drums
- Azoth Flute
Trade Skill Experience Reducement
Trade skills are seeing some great changes as well. They are making them easier to level. Most trade skills now have the experience required to New World power leveling up reduced across the board. This amount ranges from 10% to 20%. However, Fishing has its experience reduced by a whopping 50% to reach level 200. That means it will now take half the time to reach the max level. I’m sure a lot of players are now happy about these changes.
Perk Changes and Rebalance
A lot of perks are seeing some changes for the endgame. The developers felt that the perk meta was too narrow. Most players would use the same perks and there wasn’t much diversity among the perks. So they are changing and completely reworking some perks to make them more useful and competitive. Over 150 perks will be changed to some degree. This will surely make players try new ways to make their builds stronger.
Conclusion
In short, now may be a good time to try your hand at New World again. If you weren’t a fan of the gameplay, then not much has changed in that regard. However, if you found the game lacking in content and had too many bugs then you will have a lot to look forward to. All of the bug fixes and easier leveling are more than enough to come back. However, it’s worth noting that the additional content is a nice treat as well. You can get New World gold easier as well, thanks to the additional content. If you still have New World installed, then jumping on for a few minutes might be just enough to hook you back in. It doesn’t require a subscription, so there is no reason to uninstall it unless you are trying to save space.
