Performance and Gaming
iQOO Pad 2 Pro launches as the first tablet featuring the Dimensity 9300+ mobile platform. The CPU retains the full-large core design of the previous Dimensity 9300 but boosts the super-large core’s frequency from 3.25GHz to 3.4GHz, while other large cores maintain their frequencies.
The iQOO Pad2 Pro we tested comes with 16GB LPDDR5X 7500Mbps memory and 512GB UFS4.0 flash memory.
We evaluated the tablet’s theoretical and gaming performance. For the tests, we disabled the memory expansion function and enabled high-performance mode (Monster mode) to maximize the SoC’s performance.
Theoretical Performance Test
- AnTuTu Comprehensive Test
In the AnTuTu comprehensive performance test, the total score exceeded 2.068 million points, an increase of about 80.1% over the previous generation iQOO Pad with Dimensity 9000+. The CPU scored over 500,000 points, up 21.37%, and the GPU scored over 820,000 points, a 174% increase from the previous generation.
These results highlight significant improvements in graphics performance for the iQOO Pad2 Pro.
- Geekbench6
Testing the CPU performance with Geekbench6, the single-core score reached 2265 points, and the multi-core score hit 7530 points. These scores represent increases of approximately 28.2% and 66.5%, respectively, compared to the previous generation iQOO Pad. The upgrade of all large cores significantly enhances multi-core performance.
- GFXBench
For GPU performance, we used GFXBench’s six 1080P regular projects, with the following results:
- Aztec Ruins OpenGL: 206FPS
- Aztec Ruins Vulkan: 207FPS
- Racing Chase: 144FPS
- Manhattan 3.1 Offscreen: 267FPS
- Manhattan Off-Screen: 348FPS
- Tyrannosaurus Rex Offscreen: 656FPS
The GPU performance improved by about 101% year-on-year, directly doubling the graphics performance, which ensures smooth gameplay for large-scale 3D mobile games.
- Androbench
In the flash memory test using AndroBench, the iQOO Pad 2 Pro achieved a sequential read rate of 3.99GB/s, a sequential write rate of 3.55GB/s, a random read rate of 436MB/s, and a random write rate of 648MB/s, meeting the UFS 4.0 flash memory standard.
Game Test
For gaming tests, we selected four mainstream large-scale games: “KartRider,” “Peace Elite,” “Dark Zone Breakout,” and “Genshin Impact.” We conducted the tests in a 27°C indoor office environment, prioritizing frame rate, and recorded frame rate, power consumption, energy efficiency, and heat performance.
iQOO Pad2 series pioneers game ray tracing technology, achieving 60FPS+ game ray tracing in “Dark Zone Breakout.” We tested this game with ray tracing enabled at the highest quality and frame rate.
We maintained a screen brightness of 250nit and enabled Monster mode during the game tests.
- KartRider
iQOO Pad2 Pro ran “KartRider” at 144 frames with the highest quality. The game averaged 144.88FPS with minimal fluctuations, delivering a smooth experience.
Average power consumption was around 4.95W, with an energy efficiency ratio of 29.27FPS/W. The highest back temperature reached only 35.8°C, barely noticeable when holding the tablet.
- Dark Zone Breakout
For “Dark Zone Breakout,” we adjusted the game to HDR high definition + extreme frame rate and enabled extreme ray tracing. The game averaged 57.55FPS over nearly 16 minutes. Despite some fluctuations, the game remained smooth without noticeable lag.
Average power consumption was about 5.6W, with an energy efficiency ratio of 10.28FPS/W. The maximum back temperature was 40.6°C, hardly noticeable when holding the tablet.
- Peace Elite
Testing “Peace Elite” at HDR high-definition + 90 frame mode, the game averaged 89.56FPS, maintaining a stable frame rate. The average power consumption reached 6.2W, with an energy efficiency ratio of 14.28FPS/W, superior to “Dark Zone Breakout.”
The maximum back temperature was 38.7°C, ensuring a cool gaming experience.
- Genshin Impact
Finally, testing “Genshin Impact” at full picture quality +60FPS, the game averaged 59.41FPS during a 15-minute test. The Dimensity 9300+ handled this high-load game effortlessly.
Average power consumption was about 6W, with an energy efficiency ratio of 9.9FPS/W. The highest back temperature was 39.2°C, staying below 40°C.
Overall, the iQOO Pad 2 Pro’s performance in extreme gaming scenarios shows it not only meets high-end game performance requirements but also excels in power consumption and energy efficiency, thanks to the optimized tuning of the Dimensity 9300+ processor.
Productivity
- One-touch screen projection
The iQOO Pad 2 Pro enables smooth multi-screen interaction. Simply turn on Bluetooth on both devices, place the phone on the NFC sensing area in the tablet’s upper right corner, and touch it to protect the phone’s screen from the tablet. This feature allows seamless connectivity between the two devices, letting you control the phone using the tablet and eliminating barriers between them.
The iQOO Pad2 Pro also leverages its large screen to project videos and games from the phone, enhancing the viewing and gaming experience. This makes watching videos and playing games more enjoyable on the big screen.
- One-touch transfer
During screen projection, you can directly drag files from the phone to the tablet for cross-platform file transfer without needing any additional communication tools.
Additionally, when the tablet lacks a network connection, it can share the phone’s network without setting up a separate WiFi hotspot. This feature is convenient, practical, and saves users valuable time and resources.
- Super small window multitasking
The iQOO Pad2 Pro supports super small window multitasking, allowing it to run four tasks simultaneously with 2 split screens and 2 small windows.
When multiple application windows are suspended in the background, you can simply tap the side to display these windows as reduced preview images, facilitating quick switching and task management.
This efficient multitasking capability makes the iQOO Pad2 Pro a powerful assistant for managing both work and entertainment in a busy life.
Battery
The iQOO Pad 2 Pro features a dual-cell parallel system with a battery capacity of 11500mAh, boasting the largest battery capacity in its price range.
It supports a maximum wired fast charging power of 66W. According to the official introduction, it charges from 0-100% in about 91 minutes.
We conducted a series of tests on the charging and battery life of the iQOO Pad2 Pro.
Charging test
We depleted the battery of the iQOO Pad2 Pro to 1% to start the test. It charged to 10% in 10 minutes, 32% in 30 minutes, and 64% in 60 minutes. It took 93 minutes to fully charge, which aligns closely with the official advertised time.
Battery life test
For the battery life test, we used a professional battery life test tool, Battery Dog, produced by Fast Technology.
By default, the test items included a 20% power test. We checked all test items, including CPU high voltage, CPU multi-threading, AI recognition, image browsing, video playback, and web browsing. This approach simulated user usage scenarios to closely match actual power consumption.
During the test, to ensure the consistency of environmental variables for all models tested and the accuracy of the test results, Battery Dog automatically adjusted the screen brightness to 50%, turned off automatic brightness, and set the volume to 30%.
After continuous testing by Battery Dog, the tablet’s power decreased from 100% to 20%, resulting in a battery life of 8 hours and 23 minutes. After conversion, the full-charge battery life reached approximately 10 hours and 22 minutes, fully meeting the user’s needs for intermittent use throughout the day.
