The phones in the iQOO 8 series will be the brand’s next big launch in the smartphone segment. The first reports around these devices revealed that they will be powered by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 888+ chipset. Now, the company Officially has revealed that the new iQOO 8 will feature this powerful processor of Qualcomm along with some other key details.
The latest teaser poster confirms that iQOO 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888+, the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm, and the combo of UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 memory for ensuring the best performance with the chipset.
In terms of configurations, the Snapdragon 888+ has almost the exact specifications as the standard version has. The high-end core “Cortex-X1” is now clocked @2.99GHz instead of 2.84GHz (in the standard version). The chipset is still based on a 5nm process and features Adreno 660 GPU.
As previously reported, the iQOO 8 series of phones will be the first to implement Samsung’s new AMOLED E5 displays. The panel of these devices will be compatible with LTPO technology, thanks to which it will offer a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz. They are also said to enjoy high 2K + resolution and 10-bit color depth.
Regarding its design, it is said that it will make use of a perforated screen (with the hole aligned in the center) whose side edges will be curved. It is also expected to arrive with a large on-screen fingerprint scanning area, ensuring a higher first-try hit rate.
The Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset would be completed with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, along with 4GB of virtual RAM. It would also feature up to 256GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage that is confirmed. Although the capacities of their batteries are not known, it is said that they will offer at least 120W of ultra-fast charging.
To top it off, both the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro will run the Android 11 operating system as standard, camouflaged under Vivo’s new custom layer: OriginOS 1.0. For full specifications, we have to wait until the officials announced them.
