According to display supply chain analysis, Apple is gearing up for the release of the iPhone 15 series this fall.
According to the latest research report from display supply chain consulting firm DSCC, orders for iPhone 15 panels in June 2023 are expected to be 100% higher than orders for iPhone 14 panels in the same period last year. That at least suggests a better supply situation this year compared to last year, and Apple has the ability to produce more new iphones ahead of launch.
In addition, DSCC also found that the proportion of panel orders for the iPhone 15 series was also higher than that for the iPhone 14 series in the same period last year. “The Pro model accounted for 58 percent of panel shipments for the iPhone 15 series between June and July, compared to 43 percent for the iPhone 14 Pro model in the same period last year,” the report said.
At the same time, DSCC also observed that the iPhone 14 series panel shipments in June were down 22% from the iPhone 13 series in the same period last year.
The emphasis on iPhone 15 Pro orders reflects Apple’s need to revamp its product portfolio following the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro last fall. According to Igeekphone, the demand for the iPhone 14 Pro after its release has greatly exceeded Apple’s expectations.
