EverythingApplePro EAP channel has just posted a drop test video of two iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models. The drop experiment was conducted in three patterns: “the bottom of the device is down”, “the back (without Ceramic Shield) is down”, and “the display (with Ceramic Shield) is down”. Gradually increase the drop height to verify when the damage will occur.
First of all, at waist height, it seems that there was no damage at all when dropping both iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max in any state.
Pro is damaged due to height
In an experiment where I dropped it from a height, the display of the iPhone 13 Pro cracked when I dropped it with the display side down.
Even so, the iPhone 13 Pro Max had almost no visible scratches, which shows its toughness.
Falling from a height of 3 meters finally damages Pro Max
When I dropped the device from a height of 3 meters with the display side down, the display on the 13 Pro Max finally cracked. The device turned off for a moment but seems to have recovered successfully.
Even after falling from 3 meters in 3 patterns, the back of the iPhone 13 Pro Max is still undamaged. While 13 Pro was severely cracked when dropped from 3 meters on the back.
To see how much damage would damage the back of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, I dropped it again from a height of 3 meters with the backdown, and it cracked with just one additional drop.
Thanks to being equipped with Ceramic-coated glass, the iPhone 13 Pro has impressive durability. Especially the Pro Max, although it has a heavier weight, the durability is even higher than the iPhone 13 Pro.
