A few hours after the keynote ” By innovation only “, the renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has an excellent reputation reporting on future Apple products thanks to his contacts in the Asian production line, has shared his predictions for the aforementioned event, specifically those related to the next generation of the iPhone.
According to Kuo, none of the three models presented will have support for the Apple Pencil; neither will they integrate the expected USB-C port. On the latter, there were several reports that indicated the absence of the connection. As far as the pencil is concerned, there was never a reliable source to affirm or deny it. In fact, it is not the first year in which we heard of that supposed compatibility with the iPad Pro accessory.
Even more important, the analyst adds that the bilateral wireless charging could have been eliminated at the last minute, as the charging efficiency would not have met the company’s quality standards. This feature, according to previous leaks, was going to be one of the main novelties of the iPhone 11 Pro, as they will presumably call the premium variants.
Not everything is bad news; Kuo adds that the new terminals will eventually include a higher speed charger, specifically 18W. The most interesting thing is that its cable would be Lightning to USB-C.
However, the successor of the iPhone XR would continue to incorporate the much-criticized 5W charger. The analyst concluded his publication by saying that all models will integrate ultra-wideband technology to improve the indoor position.
It is important to note that the information should be taken with caution, although Kuo has an almost impeccable history of reports. Apple‘s keynote will begin at 7:00 pm in Spain.
