Apple brought a variety of new products at the spring new product launch, the most notable of which was the introduction of a new display of the iPad Pro 12.9-inch version.
But it should be noted that the body thickness of the new generation of iPad Pro is 0.5mm larger than that of the previous generation. There have been many speculations that the machine will not be compatible with the previous generation’s Magic Keyboard.
Recently, Apple confirmed this in an official Magic Keyboard document. Apple said that the first-generation Magic Keyboard (A1998) is functionally compatible with the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (fifth-generation) with Liquid Retina XDR display. Due to the slightly thicker size of this iPad Pro, the Magic Keyboard may not be installed accurately when closed, especially when a screen protector is used.
This means that if users can barely use the combination of the new iPad Pro 12.9 and the old Magic Keyboard without the film, they will completely lose support after attaching the protective film and need to buy a new generation of Magic Keyboard.
The new Magic Keyboard is basically the same as the previous generation, but it will have better compatibility with the new generation of iPad Pro. It still uses a magnetic attraction solution to be attached to the shell, and there is no need for plugging, switching, and pairing. It can be attached immediately. Use it directly, all in one go.
At the same time, the new Magic Keyboard also integrates backlit keys with a 1mm keystroke scissor structure and a touchpad that supports multi-touch gestures. It can interact with the iPad’s system and can be directly charged through its own USB-C interface.
In terms of price, the new Magic Keyboard 11-inch model is 2399 yuan, and the 12.9-inch model is 2699 yuan. The reservation has been officially opened today.
