Apple today announced that it will hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) online from June 6 to 10, free for all developers to attend. Building on the success of the previous two online conferences, WWDC22 will showcase cutting-edge innovations in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, while offering developers the opportunity to network with Apple engineers and use Apple technology. At WWDC22, apple is expected to announce iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16.
“The nature of WWDC has always been a forum for connecting and building communities.” “In that spirit, WWDC22 invites developers from around the world to come together to explore ways to realize their best ideas and unlock more possibilities,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer relations, corporate and educational product Marketing. “We love talking to developers and hope all attendees benefit from the experience.”

Apple’s global developer community has grown to more than 30 million. During WWDC22, they will have an in-depth understanding and learn how to use the latest Apple technologies and tools to turn their vision into reality. In addition to the keynote speeches and information announced in Platforms State of the Union, this year’s conference will include more informative lectures, more cutting-edge learning LABS, more digital lounges for attendees to interact, and more localized content to make WWDC22 a truly global event.
In addition to the online conference, Apple will host a special event on June 6 at Apple Park for developers and students, who will join the online community to watch a keynote and Video on Platforms State of the Union. Event space is limited, and registration information will be posted soon on the Apple Developer website and App.

For the third year in a row, Apple will support students who love coding through the Swift Student Challenge. Swift Playgrounds is an innovative App for iPad and Mac that allows you to learn the Swift programming language in an interactive and fun way. This year’s challenge invites students from around the world to create a Swift Playgrounds App project with a theme of their choice, and entrants have until April 25 to submit their work.
