It has been a long time since I last reviewed an Innokin device, and I’ve genuinely missed them. But now, they’re back with the all-new Innokin Arcfire pod, which is right on-trend as an affordable disposable killer. In a spoiler alert, Innokin simply nailed it.
First look at the Innokin Arcfire Pod, I always include a list of features in my reviews. However, a little graphic caught my eye this time, providing a perfect ‘at a glance’ image that sums up this device beautifully.
Of course, there’s more to this Innokin Arcfire than meets the eye. It boasts dimensions of 22.518.2112.9mm (with pod), a 650mAh battery, and a minimum/maximum wattage of 0.8Ω Pod: 14.5W and 1.2Ω Pod: 10.0W, along with a charging current of 750mA/DC5.0V.
Unboxing
Moving on to the unboxing, Innokin has always been a leader in environmentally friendly packaging. They have upped their game in presentation with better artwork and a more rigid box for the Arcfire Pod.
When you open the box, you’ll find the device held in a cardboard tray with the accessories neatly stored underneath.
There might not be a lot in the kit, but it includes everything you need to get started. However, please note that there’s only one pod included, which is expected given its affordable price of under 15 quid.
Design and Build
Now, let’s talk about first impressions and the overall design of the Arcfire Pod. Innokin has always excelled in elegant designs, and the Arcfire is no exception. Its simplistic shape looks sleek, and the subtle styling gives it an appearance of higher quality than its actual price tag suggests.
Surprisingly, the device is lightweight, especially considering the main casing extrusion is made of metal, probably Aluminum alloy. It has a weight of just 36g without a pod and 45g with a full pod, making it light enough to wear on a lanyard.
One edge of the device features the On/Off button along with a three-LED status light embedded in a gloss black plastic cover.
At the base, you’ll find the charging port and an LED ring that illuminates while vaping. This diffused soft light adds a cool aesthetic touch, which is particularly useful for stealth vaping.
The branding on the device adds a touch of style, embossed into the smooth satin finish of the body, giving it a polished look that catches your eye as you rotate it. It’s one of those small, classy details that Innokin is known for.
The pod is held in place magnetically, with strong magnets ensuring it won’t fall out when stored in your pocket or bag. It may be slightly awkward to pull out at first, but you quickly get used to it. Gripping the narrow edges makes it easier to remove.
The pod itself is well-designed, featuring a slim line and contoured mouthpiece for maximum comfort. However, make sure to reinsert it the right way around, as there’s a clear edge for e-liquid visibility.
Filling the Innokin Arcfire is straightforward through a silicone bung on one side, and the hole is of a decent size to prevent airlocks and keep the filling process mess-free.
The included pod has a resistance of 1.2 ohms, but a 0.8 ohm option is also available. For those not bound by the TPD regulations, there are 3ml pods available as well:
- ArcFire KS312 3ml/1.2ohm
- ArcFire KS308 3ml/0.8ohm
- ArcFire KS212 2ml/1.2ohm
- ArcFire KS208 2ml/0.8ohm
Speaking of TPD regulations, they are responsible for a less appealing aspect of the Arcfire’s appearance. An ugly silicone restriction bung is fitted at the top of the pod, which is quite visible when in use.
Performance
Now, let’s move on to performance. I had initially expected a performance similar to Innokin’s Sceptre pod kit, but the Arcfire pleasantly surprised me by surpassing my expectations. Even with the 1.2ohm pod, it delivers an excellent vape with just the right amount of warmth, a smooth draw, and tightness ideal for a proper MTL vape.
I would go as far as to say that the Arcfire offers the best MTL vape experience in Innokin’s lineup and ranks among the best in the market.
The Arcfire truly lives up to its reputation as a disposable killer. The flavor, vape quality, and draw are exceptional, and the new pods last much longer than any other Innokin pods or coils. I was well into my third 10ml bottle before noticing any performance drop.
In terms of ergonomics, I found the Arcfire to be comfortable to hold, with its rounded shape and easily accessible On/Off button. It’s also perfect for wearing on a lanyard, which is how I used it during the review period.
The 650mAh battery performs well, especially with the included 1.2ohm pod. I was able to get around 4-5ml of liquid use before needing to recharge. While it’s not the fastest charger at 0.75 Amp, Innokin highlights that you can get 75% charge in 30 minutes, which is quite convenient.
Innokin kindly sent a pack of 0.8ohm pods for me to try, which offer a more intense vaping experience overall. They provide more power and flavor but at the cost of a shorter battery life. The airflow is slightly wider, allowing for a restricted direct lung (RDL) vape.
While I did enjoy the 0.8ohm pods, the 1.2ohm pods impressed me the most. They offer a similar vape to the competition’s 0.8ohm pods, handling 50/50 nic salts well, including sweetened ‘disposable-like’ e-liquids.
Conclusion
The Arcfire is, in my opinion, Innokin’s best device for MTL vaping to date. I haven’t been this impressed since the original Sceptre. While I preferred the hardware of the Sceptre, the affordability of the Arcfire, combined with its outstanding vape quality, makes it a fantastic choice.
This Innokin Arcfire is suitable for both novice and experienced vapers, offering simplicity for beginners and exceptional performance that should satisfy even the most demanding users. Despite my preference for adjustable wattage full control kits, I doubt I could achieve a better vape than what Arcfire already provides.
Pros:
- High quality
- Excellent MTL vape quality
- Long-lasting and leak-free pods
- Lightweight and comfortable
- Very affordable
- Long battery life (especially with the 1.2ohm pod)
- A touch of elegance
- It’s Innokin
Cons:
- Unattractive TPD 2ml bung
Unfortunately, the TPD regulations had to detract from the Innokin Arcfire overall appearance. However, if you’re in an area where 3ml pods are allowed, then this device is virtually flawless.
In final thoughts, if you appreciate Innokin’s elegant styling and demand the best MTL vape quality, the Arcfire is the right choice for you. If you’re looking to switch from dispose.
