According to Yahoo News on April 23, lawmakers in the U.S. state of Illinois are cracking down on unregulated e-cigarette products, and they may focus the crackdown on gas stations.
State lawmakers are pushing a bill that would require distributors of these products to verify that their e-cigarette products are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and require them to explicitly tell retailers.
The Illinois Fuel & Retail Association, an advocacy group for gas stations in the state, supports it. They say it is not feasible for gas stations to self-certify, so regulators need to step in.
