Chinese drone manufacturer iFlight has released some really popular FPV quadcopters over the past few years, such as the ProTek Cinewhoop series of propeller-protected drones or the Nazgul Freestyle Quadcopter series. The company recently released a new lightweight FPV drone, Cinewhoop, which is a bit different from what iFlight has previously offered. Let’s take a look at the new iFlight Defender 25.
Design
The Defender 25 4S HD is the successor to Flight’s ProTek series, with very similar visual powerplant protection. The diagonal size of the frame is 112 mm, and the overall dimensions are 158 × 155 × 69 mm. Its flight weight with a standard battery is ≤249 grams (drone weight without battery: 180 grams). I think the size and weight of the quadcopter will make it more suitable for indoor use or light outdoor flying with minimal wind. I can’t imagine such a small and light ATV being stable enough in high winds.
Features
The iFlight Defender 25 is equipped with 2.5-inch propellers. These propellers are protected by protective shrouds that are suitable for indoor flying, flying around people, and general training because the propellers will not shatter if dropped. The frame also includes short legs that help, for example, take off in the grass.
To provide power to the drone, the developer offers two battery options. The first power source is a 4S 550 mAh battery, which is made in the image and likeness of the battery of the DJI Avata drone (in a protective case), including the XT30 spark-proof connector. The flight weight of the drone with this battery will be up to 250 grams, Each iFlight Defender 25 comes with one 550mAh battery, a charging adapter board, and four spare 2525 propellers. And the autonomy according to the specification is about 6 minutes (in hover mode).
