Huawei is currently launching many new products and ideas. In addition to the mid-range smartphone Nova 3, the Chinese company has now presented the smart wristwatch TalkBand B5, which will also act as a Bluetooth headset.
The Huawei Talkband B5 is a clear development: The 1.13-inch AMOLED screen allows for a resolution of 300×160 pixels and is protected against water and dust thanks to its IP76 certification. Several optional straps will be available in silicone, leather and stainless steel, all with 18 mm hooks. In addition, the weight of just 14.3 grams should make this TalkBand B5 ideal to carry with it in everyday use.
The Huawei Talkband B5 has 512 KB of RAM and 16 MB of internal memory. The band works with all smartphones running on Android from version 4.4 upwards and iOS from version 9.0. However, not all functions will be available for every smartphone – the caller’s identity or mute incoming calls are reserved exclusively for smartphone owners of Honor or Huawei with EMUI 4.1. It can also double up as smartphone selfie trigger and find the phone when it is far away and connected to Bluetooth.
In addition to phone features, the Smartwatch offers the full scope of a fitness tracker: pedometer, heart rate monitor, sleep analysis and calorie counter and rangefinder are included in the device, which weighs only 40 grams. To pair a smartphone via Bluetooth, at least Android 4.4 must be installed. In addition to recognizing and monitoring activity, TalkBand B5 will measure your heart rate over a 24-hour cycle, analyze sleep, trigger the shutter button on your smartphone, or act as a phone locator. Battery life should give you around 3.5 days, with up to 6 hours of talk time.
A Bluetooth headset with tweaked bands is controlled by a three-core audio chip with HD audio support and a double microphone thanks to noise reduction. The display may show the caller’s name, phone number, mute the call with the user, or even use the speed-dial to dial the touchscreen. With Huawei TruRelax Technology, TalkBand B5 analyzes the heart rate and stress levels, and, if necessary, breathing exercises to help relaxation. Sleep monitoring is provided by the new generation Huawei TruSleep 2.0, which analyzes the sleep phases and makes the user personalized recommendations about how to sleep more effectively. Huawei TruSeen 2.0 is a 24-hour continuous measurement, followed by sporting, running, walking or cycling, with this smart bracelet.
