Huawei is said to already be working on the first smartphones that would integrate their front cameras under the screen. Such designs are then planned for upcoming high-end series such as the Mate and P series. From which generation the Chinese could be ready is of course open. The Mate 40 planned for 2020 should not be that far yet.
LetsGoDigital did some research again and dug out a few details. This refers to a patent from October 2019. What is striking is that the display frame should shrink even further, and then practically no longer exists.
Furthermore, according to the patent, one also wants to completely dispense with physical keys. Other manufacturers have already dared to do this “experiment”, but it was not so well received by users.
The important thing is that it is a patent; no one knows exactly how far Huawei is with the implementation. The technology is quite difficult because you need displays that let enough light through so that the pictures are of decent quality.
Of course, one hopes to be ready for the market by the end of the year. In addition to Huawei, other manufacturers are of course busy implementing this technology. Oppo and Xiaomi are also right at the forefront.
