The network has new details about the flagship smartphone Huawei P50, which has not yet been officially presented. It is claimed that the device will be built on two single-chip systems. The first is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 without a 5G modem, which is codenamed Snapdragon 888 4G. The second option is based on the proprietary Kirin 9000L platform, which is a lightweight version of the Kirin 9000.
It is reported that the Snapdragon 888 4G version that Huawei P50 will carry is no different from the previous 5G version in terms of performance. It still has the top performance in the industry. It is only because of some well-known reasons that it can only use the 4G network version, but the overall performance is there is no gap between the body and ordinary Snapdragon 888.
The Kirin 9000L will be built using Samsung’s 5nm EUV process. The overall design is similar to the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E, but the configuration has been reduced.
According to the news, the Kirin 9000L will increase the main frequency of the large CPU core A77 to 2.86GHz, while the previous Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E both use the 3.13GHz A77 large core; GPU, compared to the other two, there is a large reduction. Equipped with an 18-core Mali-G78 CPU, while the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E as the big brother have 24 cores and 22 cores respectively.
In addition, for the NPU that Huawei values more, the Kirin 9000L has also been reduced, and only one large NPU core is retained. The previous Kirin 9000E has 1 large core + 1 micro core, and the top Kirin 9000 has 2 the combination of the large nucleus and micronucleus.
On the whole, Kirin 9000L maintains a similar architecture and CPU performance as the top version, but has a significant reduction in GPU and NPU, so the chip will also be slightly inferior in terms of display and image performance.
It is also reported about the top smartphone Mate 50, which will be based on the top 5-nanometer Kirin 9010 processor. At the same time, the release of this model is expected closer to the middle of next year.
