Huawei has announced its P40 series at an online event on Thursday, March 26. The company has launched three mobile phones in this series, these phones include Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro +. All three phones are fueled by the same processor, and in many ways, they’re equally powerful. There are some differences between them.
Currently, Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro are still well known to everyone. So, in this post, we will take an in-depth comparison of the differences between these two flagship phones.
Design
The P40 and P40 Pro are made out of metal and glass. Both phones have a pill-shaped display camera hole, though it’s different in size on these phones. It is in the same place on these devices, though, in the top-left corner of the display.
The P40 is the only phone that has a flat display, while the other Pro version comes with curved panels. The backside on both phones is curved, and quite frankly, slippery. That’s exactly what you’d expect out of glass and ceramic, though, there’s only so much OEMs can do about it.
Screen
The screen sizes of these phones are 6.1 inches and 6.58 inches OLED screens, respectively. The screen resolution of Huawei P40 is 2340 * 1080 pixels, the pixel density is 422 PPi, the screen refresh rate is 60 Hz, and it supports in-screen fingerprint recognition. While the Huawei P40 Pro’s screen resolution is 2640 * 1200 pixels, and the screen refresh rate is 90 Hz. It also supports under-screen fingerprint recognition.
Camera
The front camera of Huawei P40 is equipped with a 32MP sensor + infrared lens, and the aperture of the selfie lens is f / 2.0. The Huawei P40 Pro is designed with a 32MP lens + depth of field camera with an aperture of f / 2.2.
In terms of the rear camera, the P40 has a triple camera setup, which contains a 50MP + 16MP + 8MP telephoto lens combination, While the P40 Pro is equipped with quad shooters that include 50MP + 40MP + 12MP telephoto lens + 3D TOF lens combination. The optical zoom combination of Huawei P40 is 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 30x digital zoom. The optical zoom combination of Huawei P40 Pro is 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom.
Performance
Both phones are equipped with Kirin 990 5G chip combination in hardware configuration, and both are equipped with EMUI 10. In addition, in terms of battery capacity, Huawei P40 has a 3800mAh battery with 22.5W wired charging support.
While the P40 Pro is sport a 4200mAh battery, which supports 40W wired charging. Apart, it features a 27W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging. Neither of the two phones has a 3.5mm headphone jack, but they all come with Type-C port. In terms of waterproof and dustproof performance, the standard supports the IP53 level, and the Pro version supports IP68 level waterproof and dustproof.
