The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro were announced on March 27. These phones are respectively priced at 649 euros (5,010 Yuan; $794) and 899 euros (6,939 Yuan; $1,100) for the European markets. Previous flagship phones from Huawei were made available with affordable pricing. However, the company has now inflated the pricing of its flagship phones. Even though it is packed with the best of the specs and features, it may not be received well in China where there are cheaper flagship phones. Fresh information reveals that Huawei will be releasing P20 and P20 Pro smartphones with cheaper pricing in China.
Huawei’s strategy of selling flagship phones with exorbitant pricing could result in losing many markets. Since the pricing is high, many buyers may consider purchasing an iPhone that runs on the robust iOS, instead of the Android powered P20. However, fresh information reveals that Huawei has planned out a new strategy for the home market. For consumer satisfaction, the company has adjusted the pricing of the P20 and P20 Pro phones for China.
The Huawei P20 is rumored to arrive in China with a price tag of 3,788 Yuan ($600). On the other hand, the advanced sibling is pegged to cost 4,299 Yuan ($681). The new pricing is still higher than rival flagship phones in the domestic. However, one should be aware of the fact that Huawei is not competing with domestic brand, but with Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ and with Apple’s iPhone X.
