This is a strange press conference that Huawei organized in Paris today. The managers of the company’s French subsidiary presented the Nova 5T, “a smartphone designed to appeal to 18-24-year-olds”.
You will not find any difference on the spec sheet between the Huawei Nova 5T and the Honor 20. The difference is mainly on the logo stamped on the back – Huawei replaces Honor – and on the addition of a new color in purple.
We have once again right to a 6.26-inch LCD screen pierced by a punch in the upper left corner. The display definition is 2340 x 1080 pixels. Inside, there is a Kirin 980 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space.
In the back, there is a triple camera of 48MP, 16MP (ultra-wide angle) and 2MP (TOF sensor). The battery, compatible with fast charging, has a capacity of 3750mAh. The Huawei Nova 5T runs natively on Android 9 with the EMUI interface – while the Honor 20 runs on Magic UI, but that makes no difference.
Google services are present on the Huawei Nova 5T since it has been certified in time. Huawei also reassured French customers of its health in France, indicating that it recorded a 37% increase in smartphone sales in the first half of 2019 compared to last year. The brand also boasts of capturing 22% of the market share in France in August.
The Huawei Nova 5T will be gradually available in the coming days from the various partners of Huawei. The smartphone will be available everywhere in France before the month of November at a suggested price of 399 euros ($444). It is 100 euros ($111) cheaper than the introductory price of Honor 20, but it also costs 399 euros ($444) today. In addition to purple, you can also opt for the colors black or blue.
