Huawei has unveiled several handsets in recent days and is scheduled for the arrival of another, Honor Note 10, scheduled to be announced later this month, on the 31st. However, Huawei manages different lines of smartphones, such as Honor, Mate, with Mate 10 Pro and Mate RS, P with P20 Pro, and the new one with the recently announced new 3i. One of its highlights is the new Kirin 710 processor, which has now passed a benchmark.
In the test, they put him to fight with the also new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, the first of this family. The Kirin 710 is a 12 nm processor, which has four Cortex-A73 cores with a 2.2 GHz clock and four Cortex-A53 cores with 1.7 GHz. To contrast, the Snapdragon 710 is a 10 nm chip with two Kryo cores 360 Gold 2.2 GHz and six Kryo 360 Silver 1.7 GHz cores, based on Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55, respectively.
In the tests, Snapdragon 710 is represented by Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, and it is clear that it is the winner. The gap between the two chips is predictably accentuated in the single core tests: 1,863 against 1,601 points. In the multi-core test, the difference is almost negligible, 5,801 against 5,457 points. However, it is interesting to note the leap forward compared to the Kirin 659 that the Kirin 710 replaces (in the test represented by Huawei P20 Lite ): the performance in singles are practically double, and even in multi the difference is felt.
Unsurprisingly, the performance of a single core is greater on the Snapdragon’s side, with the A55 being 18% more powerful than the A53. On the multi-core test, the result repeats and the difference decreases to about 7%. This is because the Snapdragon 710 has only two high-performance cores, versus four of the Kirin 710. Depending on the power required, some Qualcomm low-power cores will be accurate.
Huawei Kirin 710, however, replaces the older 659 chip, which surpasses 68% of the multi-core performance. Overall, the new chip by the manufacturer is better by up to 75%.
