On July 18th Huawei and the TalkBand B5 will present the new Nova 3. And as with the Fitness Tracker, the Nova 3 is already listed as presale on the Chinese shopping portal Vmall.com. Thus, apart from the price for Huawei, there is not really much to reveal because on VMall.com is not only the Specsheet but also a lot of official Press render to Nova 3. And also a real surprise can be found in the specifications.
Instead of the suspected Kirin 659 processor, Huawei installed in the Nova 3 a Kirin 970, so that has the (former) mid-range model Nova the same chipset that is also found in the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. This catapults the nova into the flagship class at a stroke, at least as far as the processor is concerned.
Other than that flagship processor, the phone is confirmed to come with a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Powering the device is a 3,750mAh battery which will support Huawei’s SuperCharge technology. The Nova 3 comes with a 6.3-inch 2340×1080 resolution screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio and has a fingerprint sensor placed on the back. Other than that, the 2 dual cameras have also been confirmed with the back having a 16MP + 24MP sensor and the front houses a 24MP + 2MP.
The Nova 3 will also be equipped ex-works with Huawei’s GPU Turbo, which should increase its performance by up to 60% with a simultaneous energy saving of up to 30%. The GPU Turbo will be rolled out in the coming weeks on all Huawei models via OTA.
Visually, the Nova 3 is very similar to the Huawei P series and the Notch must not be missed. This seems to be a little wider at the Nova than at the big siblings P20 and P20 Pro. However, the Huawei Nova 3 is a bit more colorful and comes in purple, black, blue and gold on the market. How much you have to invest now in the middle class/flagship Nova 3, we will learn on 18 July, which is not very long down.
