It had been rumored for some weeks and today finally becomes official. The new Huawei MediaPad M6 comes to market in the hand of the brand in two screen sizes: 8.4 and 10.8 inches. It does so with hardware that points to the highest in the market, even rivaling Apple’s iPad Pro. Both models have the Kirin 980, the same processor as the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, and both use a very similar memory configuration. Now we bring you the hands-on review of Huawei Tablet M6.
Unlike Apple, the Chinese brand has decided to implement two different designs on their tablets of 8.4 and 10.8 inches.
While the smaller model integrates a design in vertical format with full-grain frames, the 10.8-inch model opts for a horizontal format and somewhat more pronounced bevels due to its size. In both cases, yes, we find some materials based on metal and four speakers located on each side under the signature of Harman Kardon.
Regarding the screen, both have a panel with LCD IPS technology and resolution WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) of 8.4 and 10.8 inches. Unfortunately, we do not have a fingerprint sensor. Yes instead with facial unlock by software.
For the first time in the history of Huawei, the brand has decided to implement the same processor in the two tablet models. As we anticipated at the beginning, both the Huawei MediaPad M6 of 8 inches and the MediaPad M6 of 10 have the Kirin 980 processor. The two variants also have 4GB of RAM and 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. The latter using micro SD cards.
From the photographic section of a tablet, we can not wait, and the Huawei MediaPad M6 more than meets its mission, at least in technical data.
Two rear and front cameras of 13MP and 8MP are what we find in the two models of Huawei tablets. In the absence of data such as focal aperture or focusing technologies, everything indicates that we will find quality that is more than adequate for occasional video calls and photographs.
Thanks to the new pogo pins Huawei is also bringing a keyboard case for added productivity. The slates also have USB Type-C ports, 3.5mm audio jacks, and microSD card slots. In addition, Huawei M6 tablet supports a 2048-level stylus, supports Huawei HiLink smart home connection.
As far as autonomy is concerned, the smaller model has a 6100mAh battery. For its part, the largest model has no less than 7500mAh. Both have dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS compatible with all the usual satellites (GLONASS, Beidou …). There is also a version with 4G LTE connectivity.
And what about the software? Fortunately, the two models have Android 9 Foot behind them under EMUI 9.1, the latest version of the Huawei customization layer with significant improvements, such as multiventana and Huawei Desktop Mode.
