Huawei has launched an affordable tablet PC in China, called MediaPad M5 Youth Edition and it is available in 2 versions: Wifi or Cellular. The sale price is 1899 Yuan (nearly $274 ), and 2099 Yuan (about $303 ). This tablet is sold at Huawei’s online stores in China.
According to the company, this is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) powered tablet to create a smart voice tablet. The Tablet M5 Youth Edition is also the first tablet in the industry with a 4-microphone pickup solution. It uses a linear array microphone to support a long-distance pickup in the 5m range.
The Huawei MediaPad M5 Youth Edition features a 10.1-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels and supports the M-Pen Lite (which can detect up to 2048 different levels of force sensing). The tablet uses the Kirin 659 chip in combination with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
The camera has an 8MP camera with F / 2.0 aperture, a front camera with 8MP but the aperture is F / 2.0 and there is no autofocus feature like the rear camera. In terms of software, the MediaPad M5 Youth Edition comes with Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 interface and 7500mAh battery capacity (with fast charger). The MediaPad M5 Youth Edition also has a built-in fingerprint sensor on the front panel, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
In terms of price, the Huawei MediaPad M5 Youth Edition Wi-Fi version is priced at 1899 yuan ($274) with gold/gray optional colors while the 4G LTE (full Netcom) version comes with a 2099 yuan ($303) price tag and its available in only the gold color.
