Huawei’s next high-end device is expected to be the Mate 40, presumably arriving in October. However, according to a new rumor, the company could also reveal the Huawei Mate X2 folding smartphone in 2020, which also has a panel with a very high refresh rate.
According to a rumor of the last few hours, the Huawei Mate X2 should also arrive in this poor year and with a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The indiscretion comes from Ross Young, founder, and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), who tweeted an image with an updated list of smartphones arriving or arriving in 2020 and equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate panel.
As you can see for yourself, the list also shows the Huawei Mate X2, which is also absent from the previous list; also in the last list posted on Twitter by Young there was the Huawei Mate 40, now removed.
At the moment, unfortunately, we are not aware of other details on the Chinese giant’s next folding smartphone, however, we assume that it can debut with the same 5 nm Kirin 1000 chipset expected on the Mate 40 series (there is no doubt that the telecommunications giant can unveil the Mate X2 folding smartphone in the same launch event as the Mate 40).
Recall that the other foldable from Huawei, Mate X, and Mate Xs, has a large 8 ″ OLED display that turns into a 6.6 ″ main screen and a 6.38 ″ secondary screen when it is closed. Returning to the Mate X2, some sources also suggest that Huawei’s next leaflet could use ultra-thin glass (UTG): we just have to wait for more information to understand when and with what specifications the new Chinese smartphone will arrive on the market.
