In addition to the upcoming Mate 40 flagship series, huawei is expected to introduce a new generation of folding phones in the second half of this year.
On August 11, blogger TechConfigurations drew a rendering about Mate X2 based on Huawei’s folding screen phone patent.
Industry insider @Ross Young shared the rendering and said that the Mate X2 is not much different from the patented drawing, indicating that the design of the Mate X2 is closer to the rendering.
As shown in the rendering, Mate X2 has an inner folding design, a camera module on the side of the screen, and is responsible for storing the stylus.
It’s worth noting that the camera module has a second screen below it that shows information such as the time of day and the weather.
In addition, the rendering shows that the Huawei Mate X2 can be operated with a split screen, one for display and one for input, in the semi-folded state.
Ross Young revealed that the Mate X2 has a screen size of 8.03 inches and the overall dimensions are not too different from the Mate X.
