Huawei will be showcasing its Foldable Mate X with 5G in the coming days at the Huawei Developer Conference on August 9. Interested buyers have to wait until September, according to the information circulating so far, to buy the folding Huawei phone. In addition, Huawei will offer according to industry circles of its Mate X Foldable initially only a small number for sale.
The launch of the collapsible Huawei Mate X smartphone was originally scheduled for launch in June this year. After the fiasco of Samsung’s Galaxy Fold due to display problems, however, the Huawei bosses have apparently gotten cold feet and the Falthandy again thoroughly checked for quality criteria. After rumors that Huawei’s own folding cell phone is not yet suitable for mass production, first copies of the Mate X will be sold from September.
Huawei said Mate X is equipped with a design called Falcon Wing. Unlike Samsung Galaxy Fold, Mate X meets outside and does not appear the distance between the two halves when folded. The hinge system of Mate X has been patented by Huawei and made up of more than 100 components.
Recently, Richard Yu, head of Huawei’s mobile device division, had his Mate X in the camera. The Huawei boss apparently already had the improved model of the Mate X clamshell phone in hand, which should also receive support for 65-watt super-fast charging in addition to a larger unlock button for the folding display.
