Although I often saw some marketing accounts advocating that Huawei will use a new self-developed domestic 5G chip, it seems that it will not appear as soon as everyone imagined, at least it will not be applied this year Among the Mate 60 generation models.
Digital blogger @王洋百事通 has obtained Huawei Mate 60 engineering phones, and this batch of prototype engineering phones is still equipped with Qualcomm SM8425 (the 4G version of Snapdragon 8+) chipset.
Of course, considering the time of mass production in the second half of the year, it is not ruled out that the Mate 60 mass-produced models may be replaced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or even 8+ Gen 2, but at least the source has not received news of Huawei purchasing Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
After the press conference, Hua Hegang said in an interview that the release of the Huawei Mate 60 series in the spring means that the rhythm of Huawei’s products has returned to normal. He said that last year we released the Mate 50 series, and now we have released the P60 series, we have broken through various difficulties.
Referring to the chipsets currently equipped in the Mate 50 series, the Snapdragon 8+ 4G version has cut off the 5G baseband, and its core specifications are exactly the same as the 5G version, and it is still built on TSMC’s 4nm process.
This chipset adopts a three-cluster eight-core design. The CPU is composed of 1×Cortex-X2 3.2GHz+3×Cortex-A710 2.75GHz+4×Cortex-A510 2.0GHz. The GPU is Adreno 730, and its performance is still powerful.
