The Huawei Mate 40 line may be unveiled several months from now, but leaks for the device have already begun. We already learned that its screen will have a refresh rate of 90Hz, but now we will know for the first time what the screen will be like.
According to information from user Rodent950 on Twitter, both models of the Huawei Mate 40 Series will offer the waterfall screen that was previously exclusive only for the Mate 30 Pro. Another highlight is the leakage of a glass film for the Mate 40, exhibiting extremely thin edges and reflection on the sides indicating the curved panel.
With the adoption of the cascade format screen on both models of the Mate series in 2020, it is likely that Huawei’s patent to implement virtual buttons for photo capture and camera adjustments is under development, creating a new attraction for the family of smartphones to try to win more consumers since the lack of Google services has hurt the company a lot.
Recently, a Chinese leaker also published an image on Weibo showing the alleged tempered glass protective film for the Mate 40 with curvatures on the left and right edges.
According to a source, however, the smartphone screen will not have the same shapes as the panel that will be used for the Pro variant. It seems that the curved screen will be like the one used on the Honor 30 Pro which has a 6.57-inch OLED panel. The exact diagonal of the screen of the Huawei Mate 40 is currently still unknown but it is likely that it will have OLED technology with a fingerprint reader implemented below
According to the latest rumors leaked on the Internet, the new top of the range series could be equipped with the 5 nm Kirin 1000 (or Kirin 1020) processor. The photographic sector should consist of the main sensor of as many as 108MP while the unlocking function via 3D facial recognition could be exclusive to the Mate 40 Pro.
Finally, it seems that the Chinese company will introduce the Huawei MateStation dock with the Huawei Mate 40 series, in addition to the support for 66W fast charging.
