The Huawei held an event on Thursday (22) to reveal its newest Huawei Mate 40 Series Smartphone line top: the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro + and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design come with 5G, 90 Hz screen, Kirin processor, 50MP camera and recharge up to 50W wirelessly. They run a version of Android 10 with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) and without any Google service.
Starting with the “normal” Huawei Mate 40, this model has a 6.5-inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2376 x 1080), refresh rate up to 90Hz, and touch sampling rate of 240Hz, which should offer more accuracy during cell phone use with certain games.
The device comes equipped with the new Kirin 9000E chip produced with the 5nm manufacturing process, which has eight cores, 22-core GPU Mali-G78, and Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs (neural network processing units). It also comes with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage capacity, 4200mAh battery, and support for fast charging up to 40W with the Huawei SuperCharge charger.
The camera set on the Huawei Mate 40 includes a 13MP Ultra Vision front camera with f / 2.4 aperture and wide-angle lens, and three rear cameras. The main rear camera is the 50MP Ultra Vision with f / 1.9 aperture and a wide-angle lens. The other rear cameras are the 16MP ultrawide with f / 2.2 aperture and the 8MP telephoto with f / 2.4 aperture, OIS stabilization, and autofocus.
The front camera can record videos with resolution up to 4K and can also record videos in slow motion with Full HD (1080p) resolution at 240fps. The rear camera set supports up to 4K resolution recording and slow-motion video recording with Full HD resolution at 960fps.
Connectivity options include support for 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 networks, a USB Type-C port (USB 3.1 Gen1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other features include support for GPS location services, AGPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, GALILEO, QZSS and NavIC, gesture sensor, fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The operating system is Android 10 customized with the EMUI 11 interface.
Slightly larger than the Huawei Mate 40, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a 6.76-inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2772 x 1344), 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The chip used by him is the Kirin 9000, which was also produced with the 5nm process and has 8-cores, but brings a GPU Mali-G78 with 24 cores instead of 22 and two Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs. It also brings the same 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage capacity for the normal Mate 40, and a 4400mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 66W with Huawei SuperCharge charger and fast wireless charging up to 50W with Huawei Wireless charger.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro features two front cameras – the 13MP wide-angle Ultra Vision with f / 2.4 aperture and a 3D for depth detection – and three rear cameras. The main rear camera is the 50MP wide-angle Ultra Vision with f / 1.9 aperture and the other two are the 20MP ultrawide with f / 1.8 aperture and the 12MP telephoto with f / 3.4 aperture, OIS stabilization, and autofocus.
The front camera supports video recording up to 4K resolution and slow-motion video with Full HD resolution at 240fps. The set of rear cameras supports video recording with up to 4K resolution and videos in an “ultra-slow” camera with HD resolution (720p) at 3840fps*.
The connectivity options of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro include support for 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C (USB 3.1 Gen1) ports. It also supports the same location services as the Huawei Mate 40 and features the same sensors. One difference is that the Pro model supports 3D facial recognition.
Finally, we have the Huawei Mate 40 Pro +, which is the “top of the line” model. Like the Mate 40 Pro, it has a 6.76-inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2772 x 1344), 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The chip used by him is the same 5nm Kirin 9000 with eight cores, Mali-G78 GPU with 24 cores, and two Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs.
The phone comes equipped with 12GB of RAM instead of the 8GB of Mate 40 Pro, but still has the same 256GB of storage capacity and the same 4000mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
On the front, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro + features a 13MP wide-angle Ultra Vision camera with f / 2.4 aperture and a 3D for depth detection. The rear camera suite includes the 50MP wide-angle main Ultra Vision with f / 1.9 aperture and OIS stabilization, the 20MP ultrawide with f / 2.4 aperture, the 12MP telephoto with f / 2.4 aperture 3x optical zoom and OIS stabilization, the 8MP SuperZoom with f / 4.4 aperture, 10x optical zoom and OIS stabilization and a 3D for depth detection with support for autofocus.

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro + comes with support for 5G networks, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C port (USB 3.1 Gen 1). Other features of this model include support for GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, GALILEO, QZSS, and NavIC location services, gesture sensor, fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and recognition support 3D facial.
