For months we have seen how Samsung has stolen the reflectors with leaks around its new devices. But now things have changed and it is the turn of Huawei with its expected Mate 40 Pro. After a relatively long information drought, an explosive and interesting leak arrives from Weibo by leakster called “Digitel Chat Station”. Where we see what would be a screen protector for this smartphone.
The interesting thing about the series of leaked photos is that it allows us to know some general details about the appearance of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. It is relatively confirmed that the model would have a huge 6.6-inch screen. But perhaps what is most exciting is the revelation, almost confirmation, that the terminal will have curved side edges.
If they are observers, it stands out just as the protector does not have a single perforation for the front camera. Because of this, we infer then that the Mate 40 Pro will have a camera for selfies without a notch, and most likely perforated on the display.
This means that we can see the first commercially available smartphone with a camera under the screen – a technology that is still available only in prototypes in the laboratories of certain manufacturers. Or maybe a simple motorized selfie camera, if the camera technology under the screen is not ready.
So now the biggest unknown is what would happen then with the launch schedule of the Mate 40 Pro. Since under normal circumstances it should arrive in the month of September. But the sensible question is whether this date will be covered by the consequences of the global contingency.
