The ‘on-cell’ OLED display technology of China-based display manufacturer BOE seems to have captured the market leaders, Samsung Display and LG Display. The company will supply the displays of the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro.
According to the report, BOE will exclusively supply OLED screens for the Huawei Mate 40, while the screens for the Mate 40 Pro will be in charge of the Samsung Display and LG Display.
Previously, there has been news that Huawei and Apple have contacted to buy a screen from BOE once. But BOE’s own technology still does not pass the standards set by that company.
In addition, the Twitter user named RODENT950, one of the names known in the smartphone world for getting information from inside conveyed some features of Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro with emojis. GSMArena also said that these emojis showed that the Mate 40 would have a curved screen and only selfie camera, while the Mate 40 Pro would have a pill-shaped notch that hosts the ‘Waterfall’ screen and dual selfie cameras.
What is BOE’s On-Cell Technology
The BOE’s OLED screen technology will be on-cell or in other words, the Touch Screen and Panel layers will be next to each other. Not put separately like the old screen technology Which in addition to providing a better touch experience than a normal screen Also makes the screen thinner And helps reduce production costs as well
