Soon after the launch of the Huawei P20 series of flagship phones, the rumor mill has started speculating on the upcoming Kirin 980 chipset that is expected to power the Mate 20 series of smartphones that is expected to get unveiled at the beginning of the last quarter of 2018. Today, the Huawei Mate 20 has appeared on AnTuTu. The listing on the benchmarking site has revealed that the smartphone has scored a very impressive score on it.
As it can be seen in the above image, the Mate 20 that is driven by Kirin 980 SoC has scored 356,918 points on AnTuTu. The other image shows that Mate 20 is at the top spot on the list of the smartphones that have scored highest scores on the benchmarking site. The second and third spot on AnTuTu belong to Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. These phones have respectively scored 214,750 and 214,707.
There is no information available on the other specifications of the Mate 20, but it is speculated that the Kirin 980 is built with TSMC’s 7nm manufacturing process. At present, all the flagship phones that are available in the market are powered by 10nm chipsets. The Kirin 980 reportedly features A75 architecture and a second-generation edition of NPU for better AI experience. The only thing that has been known about the Mate 20 is that it will be featuring an under-display fingerprint scanner. This seems possible since the Chinese manufacturer has recently launched the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design flagship phone with under-display fingerprint reader.
