According to Twitter source @Rodent950, the upcoming Huawei Hisilicone Kirin 9000 series chips will include two models, the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E.
It is said that Kirin 9000E may be close to Kirin 990 5G, but the performance of Kirin 9000E will be higher than Kirin 990 5G. The other kirin 9000 will be a “full blood” upgraded version with stronger performance and NPU than Kirin 9000E.
According to industry sources, Huawei previously delayed the release of the 5nm Kirin 9000 chip, while TSMC is urgently delivering the corresponding order.
Huang Haifeng, an independent analyst in the communications industry, said that huawei’s “last generation” high-end chip Kirin 9000 has a stock of about 10 million pieces, which means that about 10 million Huawei Mate40/Pro phones can use this chip, which may last for about half a year. When the stock runs out, Huawei’s handset business, especially high-end phones, will soon face big challenges.
We previously reported that Yu, in a public speech due to the US ban, said that the Kirin 9000, which will ship in the Huawei Mate 40 series this fall, may be an out-of-print high-end huawei chip. Yu chengdong disclosed that huawei Mate 40 is equipped with our new-generation Kirin 9000 chip and will have more powerful 5G capability, more powerful AI processing power, more powerful CPU and GPU.
