Earlier this year, the Honor brand officially became independent, completely separated from Huawei.
After the launch of Honor V40, the CEO of Honor Zhao Mingzeng made it clear that Honor will try its best to hit the high-end market, create a top flagship for Honor consumers, and launch its own “Mate and P” series, which will be officially unveiled this year.
According to previous news, in addition to the regular high-end flagship, Honor will also bring the first folding screen flagship in June this year, and it will be named “Magic X” official debut, which is Magic series after three years again.
However, according to the latest reports of relevant media, recently informed sources revealed that Honor will launch Magic X folding screen flagship in the second half of this year, that is to say, the phone may be delayed.
However, sources say Honor signed a purchase agreement with Verciano last year, under which Verciano will supply the Magic X with display and touch screen attachment components.
This suggests that the overall design of Honor Magic X is now complete and even ready to go into mass production. The delay may be due to the recent supply chain instability that has plagued many players in the industry.
In addition, the source also revealed: “Honor is basically following what Huawei did before the phone.”
That said, the overall positioning of the Honor Magic X is likely to be similar to Huawei’s recently launched Mate X2, with a premium market focus and even some competition, while also targeting top players like Samsung and Apple as rivals.

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to Magic X fold-screen flagship, it was previously announced that Honor will launch different categories of high-end products, covering different directions such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops, watches, etc., which will be a strategic layout oriented to the whole scene, which is worth looking forward to.
