Recently Huawei is complained for its lacking olephobic coating, which is always made to reduce the buildup of smudges and oil, on the flagship P10. Huawei argued that Gorilla Glass 5 used in P10 is the cause of not placing this treatment.
However, another smartphone using Gorilla Glass 5, DOOGEE MIX, claimed to use a new treatment in the olephobic coating technique to make it possible with Gorilla Glass 5, and post a photo with a drop of water on display to prove it.
A simple way to check if there is a olephobic coating is to make a water test. As the picture shows, the water drop didn’t splash because of the olephobic coating, so costumers could be relieved about its olephobic coating, even though it applied the same Gorilla Glass 5 with Huawei P10.
DOOGEE MIX is a latest full display smartphone, with 5.5” AMOLED display in a iPhone 7 size body. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is reportedly used in the top panel of this phone.
