At IFA 2019, Huawei has officially introduced a new True Wireless headset called FreeBuds 3, which is owning the same design as the Airpods, this is the third version of the FreeBuds wireless headset line that first appeared in 2018. FreeBuds 3 is available in black and white for users to choose.
The sound quality of FreeBuds 3 was also evaluated by the media at IFA 2019. Engadget said the sound quality of this headset is on par with Apple’s Airpods model. Meanwhile, The Verge editor praised FreeBuds 3 for its well-controlled bass and clear soundstage.
According to Huawei, FreeBuds 3 is equipped with a new audio chip named A1. The company says the new chip is similar to the H1 chip on Airpods and is the first product in the world to support Bluetooth 5.1 and is designed to provide lower latency and battery consumption than other Bluetooth chips.
However, this feature only works exclusively on Huawei phones. In fact, when experiencing this feature, users still have to open the Bluetooth menu (!?) So I do not understand what Huawei shows this new chip for.
In terms of listening time, FreeBuds 3 is equipped with a large capacity battery that allows users to listen to music continuously for 4 hours, accompanied by a charging box capable of extending the listening time up to 20 hours. Huawei claims that FreeBuds 3 charges 100% faster than AirPods 2, or 50% faster if users charge wirelessly.
According to many technology news sites, the active noise canceling feature is the “most attractive” feature of FreeBuds 3. In fact, this feature is often not integrated by manufacturers on True headphones. Wireless. Huawei itself also confidently claims, FreeBuds 3 is the first True Wireless headset to feature this feature. According to Engadget, FreeBuds 3 can reduce ambient noise by about 15 dB for each headset.
Huawei also said that the delay on this model reached 190 ms, significantly faster than other True Wireless headphones on the market, allowing users to use the headset in tasks requiring audio latency. as low as gaming.
Besides, FreeBuds 3 is also equipped with voice detection sensors, allowing amplification of sound during calls. This feature also allows users to make phone calls better while running or cycling.
Currently, the official selling price of FreeBuds 3 has not been set by Huawei. However, according to the company’s representative at IFA 2019, this headset model will be cheaper than the AirPods. Expected, FreeBuds 3 will be sold in Europe and some other countries in October.
