Despite the latest US government blockade, the Chinese manufacturer Huawei continues to work on improving its software and a good proof of this is that the new version of its customization layer, EMUI 11.1, already has an arrival date on Huawei terminals.
Thanks to the guys from Gizchina, who reproduce information published in the Chinese media News My Drivers, we have learned that the new version of the software layer of the Chinese giant will arrive at Huawei terminals next month.
Until now, everything seemed to indicate that we were not going to see more versions of EMUI since it was assumed that this software would be replaced by its new Harmony OS 2.0 operating system.
But, according to the sources consulted, the latest version of EMUI, specifically 11.1, will arrive in March on all the devices of the Chinese brand, an arrival that will coincide with the presentation of its new flagship, the Huawei P50, which would arrive in two versions, one with Android and one with Harmony OS.
EMUI 11.1 will already be based on the Harmony OS core but the full transition of both current and new devices to the new operating system will not take place until the second half of this year.
It is still not very clear if Harmony OS is really a completely new operating system or if it is just a copy of Android 10, since at the beginning of the year a Huawei executive listed the differences of its alternative compared to Android but recent information reveals that that could be false and that it is not a totally different software from Google’s but rather a fork of it.
