In products like laptops, mobile phones, tablets, and wearable devices, the new USB Type-C interface solves the worldwide problem of “USB is never inserted correctly”. And a Chinese giant is trying a method for preventing corrosion of this interface. Regarding this, a Chinese company @天眼查 data reveals that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has added several new patent information, which includes a patent for “a method for preventing corrosion of terminals and Type-C interfaces”.
The patent abstract shows that this application provides an anti-corrosion method for the terminal and the Type-C interface, which is used to reduce the probability of electrochemical corrosion between the CC pin and other pins in the Type-C interface.
In the terminal, the processor is connected to the motion sensor and the interface chip respectively. The interface chip is respectively connected to the processor and the CC pin in the first Type-C interface. The motion sensor is used to monitor the motion state of the terminal; the processor is used to according to the motion state of the terminal monitored by the motion sensor when it is determined that the motion state of the terminal changes from the moving state to the static state, the control interface chip configures the CC pin of the first Type-C interface to a low-level mode.
The moving state into the static state reflects that the terminal is disconnected from the external device. In this case, configuring the CC pin to low-level mode can reduce the effective level of the CC pin, thereby reducing the CC pin and other pins the probability of electrochemical corrosion between.
Judging from the patent information, this should belong to Huawei’s patent for a wearable device, and the device seems to support the reverse charging of Smartphones.
