There is a risk that Huawei will no longer be able to produce smartphones if the US continues to impose sanctions on the tech giant. Despite this, the company is still planning to release several new devices at once. We are talking about Huawei Nova 8 Series and Mate X2.
And recently, these upcoming phones have been approved by TENAA, which now showcase their model numbers. Additionally, the code names have been revealed. The TENAA listings of the upcoming Nova 8 series and Mate X2 were first shared by the popular leaking Digital Chat Station on Weibo. It also revealed the code names of these smartphones.
According to estimates, the devices in the Huawei Nova 8 series are codenamed “Jessica” and “JessicaH”. While it didn’t mention the marketing name of these products, it should probably retail as the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro respectively. Also, they will come with two model numbers each – JSC-AN00 / JSC-TN00 and HJC-AN00 / HJC-TN00.
Having said that, it’s not the first time we’ve heard of the nova8 series code names. In August, renowned information leak host Evan Blass revealed that the devices in the series are named “Jessica” and “Barbie”.
Anyway, he did not directly mention that these codenames belong to the nova8 series as he says they are for the next generation nova series. However, the smartphone associated with the second codename still remains a mystery.
While Huawei is preparing to launch Nova 8 series and Mate X2, it’s worth noting that these are likely to be limited to China and certain global markets as the company is currently unable to place new orders for chips and other materials.
