Honor opened its 5G lab for the first time, demonstrating its 5G technology and its future 5G layout. Xiong Junmin, vice president of the Honor business department, first revealed that the upcoming Honor Vera 30 supports dual-mode 5G full Netcom.
Recently, Honor unveiled the 5G lab for the first time: including the Communication Protocol Test Lab (IoT Lab) and multiple labs for 5G future scenarios. Among them, the communication protocol testing laboratory can simulate the worldwide network standard, seamlessly access the global network, simulate the network band of each operator, and bandwidth, and even any network scene. People walking in the lab can simulate the shuttle network in different countries and restore the roaming experience in international travel.
Honor also displayed various 5G scene labs such as travel, home, games, etc., fully simulating and simulating various usage scenarios, and faithfully restoring 5G signals in different scenarios, and ensuring the best 5G experience through repeated debugging.
In the future, the 5G network is a hybrid NSA/SA network. After the network is upgraded, only the single-mode mobile phone of the NSA is supported. In the SA network the only location, the 5G network cannot be connected. Xiong Junmin made it clear that Honor rejected the transitional 5G mobile phone.
Xiong Junmin believes that the real 5G mobile phone should be dual-mode, not only facing the present but also facing the future, using timeless; Honor, such as only supporting NSA single-mode mobile phones, can release 5G mobile phones in the first half of the year, but In order to support SA, Huawei and Honor have paid more than 100 million US dollars in research and development costs, enabling their models to support both SA (independent networking) and NSA (non-independent networking), truly dual-mode 5G full-network, which is 5G ultimate solution.
The Honor Vera 30 is based on the leading 5G technology. According to Xiong Junmin, the Honor Vera 30 is the first mobile phone to support dual-mode 5G Netcom. It will be the first to carry the Kirin 990 series chip to create a new era of 5G. The Kirin 990 series chip was released on September 6th. It has the most advanced 5G technology and is the first to support NSA/SA dual architecture and TDD/FDD, bringing the best 5G experience in the industry. Kirin 990 5G version based on 7nm and EUV process 5G SoC, is the industry’s smallest 5G mobile phone chip solution, based on built-in 5G baseband technology, 5G network can be realized without external 5G chip.
It is reported that the 5G technology to be applied to Vera30 has been studied since 10 years ago: In 2009, Huawei started the 5G research in the first year of 4G commercial use; in May 2017, Release 15 NAS Huawei pre-commercial; 2018 In May, the lab completed the first 5G phone call; in March 2019, the lab completed the first 4G video phone under 5G. On September 6, 2019, the Kirin 990 5G chip was released, becoming the world’s first flagship 5G SoC chip.
With 10 years of technology investment of 4 billion US dollars, Huawei’s 5G patents account for more than 20% of the world.

Xiong Junmin introduced that the show in the 5G lab is just the tip of the iceberg that honors 5G technology and experience. In addition to the hard power of dual-mode 5G Netcom, the Honor Vera 30 also has AR, 4K, cloud applications and many other young people’s favorite technology. It is understood that the Honor of Vera 30 will be released in the fourth quarter.
