on Thursday 5th October, Huawei’s Sub-brand Honor launched the third version of its gaming-oriented smartphone which called Honor Play 3. In fact, the company guarantees that this time the positioning of its product will be a little broader, making a point of saying that it is not focused only on those who want to use it to play.
Unlike the original Honor Play, Honor Play 3 is not being positioned as a gamer smartphone. Instead, the phone is a more economical device, with some features that only appear on more advanced phones, making it a good value for money.
The device comes equipped with a mid-range Kirin 710F chipset with 4GB and 6GB versions of RAM and 64GB and 128GB of expandable storage. So those who expect the phone to deliver a high-end SoC like its predecessors can get their horses out of the rain. Other key details include 6.39 inch HD + notch (but “chin”) LCD screen and 4000mAh battery with 10W charging.
In the field of photography, the Honor Play 3 features triple rear cameras, with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a third 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, we have an 8MP camera sticking the screen in the top corner.
Honor Play 3 brings again GPU Turbo technology, which offers performance improvements in specific games, but not of the same quality as the previous ones. The latest version of GPU Turbo on EMUI 9.1 supports over 20 games, including Fortnite and Minecraft.
Now comes the good part: Honor Play 3 arrives in China this month at a starting price of $140 for the 4GB / 64GB model and $182 for the models. 6GB / 64GB or 4GB / 128GB.
