Honor today launched its latest flagship product, the Honor Magic 4 Pro, in the UK. The smartphone will be available for pre-order on 13 May 2022, starting at £949.99. Honor also brought the Earbuds 3 Pro and Watch GS 3 smartwatches to the UK along with its flagship phone.
Honor Magic 4 Pro
The Honor Magic 4 Pro offers an “iconic symmetrical design,” an improved display, better cameras, and “superior performance.” The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chip platform, which provides up to 20% more CPU, 30% more GPU, and 300% more AI performance. The phone packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for “smooth and stable performance.”
The display is another major update for the Honor Magic4 Pro. It features a “quad-curved” 6.81-inch LTPO OLED panel with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1000 nits peak brightness, and a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. The ability to dynamically change the refresh rate enables smartphones to display smooth images while maximizing battery life. Honor says its latest flagship also features 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to minimize eye strain.
The Honor Magic4 Pro features a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera (1/1.56-inch sensor), an ultra-wide-angle 50MP camera, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera. The latter offers 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. The camera in the Honor Magic4 Pro can also record 10bit Log 4K / 60 FPS video.
Other features of the Honor Magic4 Pro include IP68-rated dust, rain and water resistance (up to a depth of 1.5m for 30 minutes), and 100W wired and wireless charging. Honor claims that the smartphone can fully charge the battery in 30 minutes, while the Honor SuperCharge wireless charger can charge 50% in 15 minutes.
Finally, the Honor Magic4 Pro features a “breakthrough new solution” that prevents sound leaks for more private calls. The smartphone uses the directional sound feature to dynamically adjust the volume of incoming audio and ensure that only you can hear the caller.
The Honor Magic4 Pro starts at £949.99 (about 7884.92 yuan), with color options including cyan and black. Users who pre-order the smartphone will receive a special package worth £324 (about 2689.2 yuan), including the Honor Watch GS 3 smartwatch, wireless charging base, and phone case. The Honor Magic4 Pro will be officially released on May 27, 2022.
