Information has appeared on the network more than once that Honor is working on its first foldable devices. Now the analyst Changan Digital King announced that Honor will launch two foldable smartphones in China before spring. If all goes as planned, the first Honor-branded foldable computers will launch in the first quarter of 2022.
According to the source, one of these phones will open up and down and the other will open left and right. In other words, the company will launch a clamshell device alongside tablet-style foldable like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Previous reports had suggested that Honor’s foldable widescreen would be similar to the Huawei Mate X2. It’s no surprise that almost all devices released by Honor after being sold by Huawei still resemble those of its former parent company.
This may be because mostly the development of these devices started when the two brands were under one roof. According to Ross Young of DSCC, Honor will use foldable panels supplied by BOE and Visionox. The tablet-style foldable is expected to feature an 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch cover screen.
The honor was expected to launch its first foldable product in Q4 2020. Finally, although the official names of these devices to be released are a mystery, there is a possibility that they will be called Honor Magic Fold and Honor Magic Wing according to the brand’s latest trademarks.
