Honor announced that it will launch its newest Smartphone, Honor 9X, on July 23. This was done by uploading promotional posters through his Weibo account. And today, an image of retail box has appeared on the Web, in which the successor of Honor 8X smartphone should appear on store shelves.
The phone will receive some unexpected features and capabilities for users, including a front-facing retractable camera that can withstand 50,000 work cycles. Another feature is a branded accessory that will turn the Honor 9X into a kind of portable game console and will offer users physical buttons and analog sticks.
Recently, a sketch of a smartphone from the user’s manual was also published, which confirms the presence of a retractable front camera, as well as a dual main camera located in the upper left corner of the rear panel.
Last month the Chinese company presented its first 7nm process average range chipset, the Kirin 810 with an octa-core CPU comprising of six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.88 GHz, and two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.27 GHz. Honor CEO George Zhao posted on Weibo the teaser that Honor 9X will be powered by this 7nm-based chipset.
In addition to the new SoC on board, we will have a triple camera but with some uncertainty. It should be a triple module with a Sony IMX582 48MP main sensor, although other items refer to a 24MP + 8MP + 2MP compartment. The rumors also disagree for the selfie camera, 25MP or 20MP. While for the selling price of Honor 9X there are rumors of a minimum of 1899 yuan up to a maximum of 2499 yuan (about $276-$363).
